I love taking pictures of families!

If you're new here, then welcome to my website! I’m a British photographer based in Nice, France, with experience of creating and capturing beautiful unscripted moments. As a dad of two daughters I know the time, patience, and approach required to put children at ease so the whole family can enjoy their photography experience.

I direct outdoor family photography sessions on the French Riviera that create the connections and reactions that render beautifully for clean, unmistakably professional images perfect for displaying in homes and being part of photography albums.

I enjoy working with children of all ages and creating a fun relationship that means we both have fun together. With young children I work at their pace to capture spontaneous moments of play, laughter, and connections. Sometimes this means working slowly, and waiting for them to get used to me and the camera before I begin pushing the shutter button. I then find the activities that match their mood and personality while helping them relax, smile, and express themselves.

Photography in a fun, relaxed atmosphere

Photoshoots are always relaxed, easy-going, and based upon the personalities of clients. I’m not the type of person to clock-watch or complicate things with hidden fees – I simply show up, usually have a friendly chat to introduce myself and see how people are feeling, and then set about taking the kind of imagery clients want.

Fall photos : A candid family photography session in Nice, Provence, France

During weddings and couple shoots I have a degree of control over timings, but I know that during family photoshoots that's not always possible. It's for this reason I always approach each photoshoot, especially ones with young children, with an open mind with regard to timings and flexibility; it never takes me long to discover the best ways to work at their pace, have fun, and engage on a level they'll enjoy.

A few days later – usually within two weeks – clients receive a download link to fully-edited jpgs with no water-marks. A session lasting 40 minutes usually yields between 40 and 60 images. Clients often show me pictures on their phone that they would like to re-create and I’m happy to do so. I also usually get in touch in few days before to advise on colours depending on the time of day, mood, and location - this is to give clients enough time to ensure their chosen outfits are all clean and will not clash with another outfit or the colours of the environment.

A proposal on the French Riviera
21 March 2025
I just had to share these photos of a surprise proposal on Cap Ferrat on a day when, literally until the last minute, it was raining heavily. As the couple made their way down the winding path with their umbrella up, my camera bag sealed shut inside a waterproof bag, it was a bizarre situation to find myself in; photographing a proposal in such awful conditions. The couple had travelled half way around this world to be here, I'd been in communication with the client for months, and it was all leading up to this moment: it was their last night here and rain or shine it was now or never to pop the question. Then something amazing happened; both rain and shine at once. The sun was so low in the sky it suddenly shot through underneath the clouds and hit the grey landscape - lighting it perfectly. Despite being dragged out in such awful conditions, the proposal itself was a complete surprise and led to some amazing imagery. And then yes, during a photoshoot about 10 minutes later a rainbow appeared and the complete reversal of fortunes was complete. I was so excited for them and full of admiration on his insistence that it WAS going to happen, come what May - and what a reward; I'll probably never see anything like it again.

Nestled in the Warwickshire countryside, Ettington Park is one of the finest country-house wedding venues in the country. It's a genuine architectural marvel built in the Neo Gothic style which flourished in Victorian England. Built between 1858 and 1862 it now serves as a hotel and luxury wedding venue.
