Hello and welcome to my website! My imagery is all about spontaneity, warmth, and sentiment. I use a reportage style of photography and I keep things light, fun, and natural.
In the months of July and August I'm based in Warwickshire where I grew up, but otherwise I live in Nice, France. My photography is always easy, fun, and results in imagery of people that they never imaged could be realised. The best place to explore my latest work is at my blog.
The unique look of my wedding photography is partly inspired by medium format camera film. When one looks at these types of exposures, it can be as though the images are somewhere between a dream and a memory, far removed from the abrasive, hyper-realism of modern digital cameras.
The look is a timeless, subtle, and faithful way to portray all things sentimental.
My experience and friendly, easy-going relationships with clients allow me to create amazing results remarkably quickly. I never force people’s behaviour to fit my vision and instead give people the space and freedom to laugh, have fun, and be themselves during photo-shoots.
The experience of working with me is reflected in the feel of my imagery: authentic images that resonate with real sentiment. Couple shoots can be done between 10 and 25 minutes, meaning they can be organised without being too disruptive on people’s time-tables.
A photographer is usually just one of many artists that contribute to a wedding, and I’m always eager to capture the creativity of everyone involved. I rigorously and carefully apply all my expertise and attention to each part of the day – from wide angle or aerial imagery of exteriors to tight, close-ups of details and finishing touches that bring image collections to life.
This ensures image deliveries are filled with a huge variety of imagery capturing everything from many angles: faces, places, flowers, food, colours, textures, and details.
The artistic flair and creations of every supplier involved are expertly captured to create a comprehensive image collection that reflects the creativity and thought that’s gone into your day.
Every client is enormously valued and l listen carefully to everyone’s preferences, anxieties, and tastes to ensure I bring their creative vision to life in a way that works for them. Communication is a vital part of creating amazing wedding photography because I understand that every client’s wishes, and every event, is different.
I take a holistic approach to weddings, which means taking every step possible to make sure clients receive the best results. This can mean giving feedback and advice on a huge range of things to improve their day prior to the day itself; this can mean discussing a couple’s schedule, their posture, their body language, and discussing the importance of factors like music in creating an ambiance that can be reflected in wedding imagery.
A significant part of getting amazing results is ensuring couples feel relaxed, assured, and confident on the day of their wedding. A significant part of this is organisation. When clients know that I understand them, their expectations, and their preferences they will be more relaxed and they can focus on simply being in the moment. I am happy to take the time to talk with clients as much as is necessary, and often we explore images or mood-boards together so I understand the aspects of their wedding imagery that is most important to them.
Often couples have ‘shot lists’, or want to re-create images they’ve seen online and I love the creative challenge of re-creating existing beautiful images and the delight clients feel when it’s they see themselves in images they love.
I offer personalised, detailed, and simple wedding photography contracts designed to offer peace of mind and help with make wedding organisation easier. A key feature is flexibility in being able to update the contract with detailed specifics or deliverables much closer to the event. This means contracts can be signed, dates saved, and deposits paid now, for example, and the schedule for the day itself be added in the days and weeks before the event.
Deposit: Typically, for a day’s coverage, there is a deposit of 300 Euros.
A photographer with work published by the EU Commission, Save the Children, and the UNHCR, I live in Nice, France, with my partner and our two daughters. Originally a newspaper journalist, I worked on newspapers in the UK for seven years before being a copy writer and designer. In addition to living in France and the UK, I also spent three years living in Tunisia.
